As a former member of the RAF and current member of Royal Airforces Association Basingstoke branch I am always very happy to see and hear the Airforce at work. The Red Arrows are the foremost display team in the world. This iconic shot demonstrates them at them at work. Sadly the light was not good during their show.

This was actually a test photo that I took to try to get the light levels right for fill-in, but I loved the emotion so much I decided to try to balance the light levels to see what I could recover from it.I was able to rebalance the light levels as I was shooting raw, and extracted images at 0, 1 and 2 stops, and then interpolated them to get to the final image.

I was on holiday in Sydney and I went to Circular Quay to take some night time photos, when I saw that the opera house was lit up. I took a couple of photos ,then went to change my lens.By the time I had done this I saw the lights on the opera house had gone out. I then realised it was a rehearsal for Vivid a Sydney winter light show which takes place around the harbour.
